On this page, you’ll find a few technical questions answered.
The Course Status may say “Not Started”. Well, the course has started… but maybe you haven’t. Once you’ve seen the content, you can check the box at the bottom of the page saying “Mark Complete”, and Course Status will change to “In Progress”. That way you can keep track of what you’ve seen.
This course is hosted on my wordpress site, so you will have to log in every 24 hours or so (for safety reasons).
I suggest you bookmark the login page, so you can get back in easily! Here’s how to bookmark a page.
I had someone ask about how to change the password, so I made a little video.
Sometimes the audio links don’t work for some obscure reason, but apparently opening the link in incognito-mode seems to be a workaround! Find that option by right-clicking the link and choosing incognito.
If you are on an iOS device you can save and open the files using the app WinZip, available on AppStore.
Toggle the little CC button at the bottom right of my videos, and you’ll get English subtitles! The other videos I show are all from youtube (I think). And most of them have an option of toggling on auto-generated subtitles if you click the gear symbol in the same location – bottom right!
Apparently, for some people the comment system in this course platform is moody and the text disappears if they forget to tick the “I am not a robot” box, or post the comment really fast after ticking said box. Unfortunately, there’s not much I can do on my side apparently, perhaps other than suggest writing long comments in some word processing program and copying them over…!
Most links that I share automatically open in a new tab – except for my own blog post, for some obscure reason. If you want them to open in a new window, you can use the right mouse button and open links in a new tab. This makes it easier to navigate back to the course page. 😊
Unfortunately I’m typically not allowed to share whole articles due to copyright matters – it’s only the authors that can do that, and even then only on individual requests. When I can, I try to share the whole thing. One solution is to contact the first author (or whoever is marked with a little envelope, they’re the one responsible for corresponding with readers)- they are always more than happy to share, free of charge! 🙂

If you want to view a transcript of the video, you can toggle the button right next to CC in the control bar. It looks like a written page with a magnifying glass, and it helps some students a lot with their learning.
