Little did I know&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-1024x590.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-1024x590.png 1024w, https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-768x443.png 768w, https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-1536x885.png 1536w, https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts.png 1822w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Podcasts &#8211; yes, no, or huh?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>517 people answered, and I just summarized the wealth of data that they provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>First, let me just say that the &#8220;most-listened-to&#8221; is based on <em>my particular community of people interested in animal behaviour, learning and wellbeing,<\/em> so it might not reflect the actual audience numbers of these podcasts well at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, the last six months or so have seen an influx of a huge number of new podcasts, and although some of them have been discovered and already top this list, others are still unheard of for their intended audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, a small audience isn&#8217;t necessarily a reflection of the quality of the podcast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I should also mention that I&#8217;m not much of a podcast-listener myself, so I&#8217;m unfamiliar with most of the podcast listed below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s have a look at what people answered..!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">do people listen to animal-related podcasts?<\/h5>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"536\" src=\"https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-listening-1024x536.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6021\" srcset=\"https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-listening-1024x536.png 1024w, https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-listening-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-listening-768x402.png 768w, https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/podcasts-listening.png 1361w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">517 people answered the poll. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Whether people listen to animal-related podcasts was quite variable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some people didn&#8217;t know they existed: <em>&#8220;Never heard about them&#8221;<\/em>..<em>. &#8220;Wish I understood what they are &amp; how to access them.&#8221;<\/em>&#8230; <em>&#8220;I never thought about it, but I will now&#8221;&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of podcasts, they are the modern version of radio programs; short recurring (20-60 minutes) audio recordings, typically a conversation between the podcast host and an invited guest. They are normally available on a website, or through an app on your phone. Find out more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/media\/2017\/oct\/07\/how-to-listen-to-podcasts-everything-you-need-to-know\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a>  Many people listen to them while commuting, gardening or folding laundry&#8230; \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reason why some people answering the poll actively chose not to listen to podcasts had to do with time, overload or other preferred learning routes:  <em>&#8220;I am more of a visual learner&#8221;&#8230; &#8220;I think a lot of them would drive me crazy&#8221;&#8230; &#8220;I actually listen less now as there are more options, as it is overwhelming&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another reason for not listening to podcasts was that people haven&#8217;t found the right one: <em>&#8220;Actually, I don\u2019t but would like to!&#8221;&#8230;  &#8220;something I keep meaning to do&#8221;&#8230; &#8220;I don&#8217;t have enough time to sift through different podcasts looking for the good ones&#8221;<\/em>&#8230; <em>&#8220;Don&#8217;t know of any good ones&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hopefully, you&#8217;ll get some inspiration below!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And yes, turns out there are MANY podcasts out there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;In Sexier Than a Squirrel, the Official AbsoluteDogs Podcast, veterinary behaviourist Tom Mitchell and international agility competitor and professional dog trainer Lauren Langman talk training your dog, transforming your dog training struggles and getting real-life results through GAMES!<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah Stremming&#8217;s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thecognitivecanine.com\/the-podcast-cog-dog-radio\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cog-Dog Radio <\/a>was mentioned by 56 people.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"571\" height=\"444\" src=\"https:\/\/illis.se\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/08\/cogdog1.png\" alt=\"\" That&#8217;s not always available, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, since I am unfamiliar with most of the podcasts listed above, please let me know if any of them might be unsuitable for this forum &#8211; hopefully, that shouldn&#8217;t be the case..!
